Church! It Is Time For Going Viral

Speaking of going viral, the Corona Virus quickly became a pandemic, as other viruses in the past, with devastating effects across the globe. Its beginning, appeared to be an unassuming sickness, affecting a small amount of people, then becoming an epidemic, then within a matter of weeks a pandemic. Perhaps this happened because it was underestimated for its potential to impact nearly every aspect of human existence. The Corona Virus has threatened and taken human life; created fear, panic and self-isolation; crippled the global economy; caused people to horde supplies leaving little to nothing for their neighbors; and has presented opportunities for evil scheming to increase with devious plans to do harm beyond what the virus itself could do. There are evil schemes of population control, wealth stratification, centralized governmental control, one-world currency, human tracking in the name of global health and more. Perhaps the corona virus was unleashed upon the world to do what it was naturally designed and/or created to do by men. In any case, it has gone viral. You may be familiar with this phrase, "going viral," which is commonly used for social media. It is something that spreads rapidly through a population by being frequently shared with a number of individuals. [1] In the case of the Corona Virus, going viral is an awfully bad thing to occur. However, the Corona Virus is not the only living organism that can go viral.

As I have written previously about God's Strategy Within the Corona Virus Pandemic, the great I Am, who is absolutely sovereign, has a living organism ready to unleash upon the earth, with its created purpose of going viral, not for harm, but for good. This living organism is the body of Christ, which He taught about towards the beginning of His earthly ministry, laying a foundational understanding of the purpose of the Church He was creating. 

“You are the salt of the earth; but if the salt loses its flavor, how shall it be seasoned? It is then good for nothing but to be thrown out and trampled underfoot by men. “You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden. Nor do they light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a lampstand, and it gives light to all who are in the house. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven. Matthew 5:13-16 (NKJV)

Although the Church is not perfect because of its many members, it is perfectly designed to accomplish what it has been created to do, which is so much more than being something.

Although the Church is not perfect because of its many members, it is perfectly designed to accomplish what it has been created to do, which is so much more than being something. The "being something" I am referring to is the organized church. Unfortunately, in some cases the organized church has become a man-made institution with systems, structures, hierarchies, economics to maintain it, and teachings/doctrines which originated from the world culture, man's imaginations and/or demons. The Apostle Paul addressed this issue of apostasy in his letter to Timothy, saying: “Now the Spirit expressly says that in latter times some will depart from the faith, giving heed to deceiving spirits and doctrines of demons, speaking lies in hypocrisy, having their own conscience seared with a hot iron.” 1 Timothy 4:1-2 (NKJV) By no means is this suggesting there should not be organization within the Church, for its creator is the God of order. However, it is suggesting that the living organism that God created to go viral, may have been injected with this demonic organized church vaccine, to contain it from spreading, rendering it impotent and ineffective.

Have you ever wondered why the Apostle Paul, John and many other early church writers believed the Lord would return within their lifetime? Was it because their eschatology (a system of theology or biblical interpretation concerning the end times and the second coming of Christ) was off? Or was it because they saw that the current trajectory of the Church going viral would sooner than later impact the entire world for the glory of its soon returning King, Jesus Christ? It really does not make sense to conclude their eschatology was off and be on about everything else they thought and wrote about, which we know and consider the canon of scripture, inspired by God. However, in their hopeful prediction based on what they saw and experienced as the Acts of the Apostles records, is it possible they did not foresee what Satan was going to do, not as a covert attack against the Church, but an overt attack within the Church. 

If you do not agree with this premise, please keep reading. If you do agree with this premise, really keep reading. The Church is not the suffering body of the Christ on the cross, nor is it the decaying body of the Christ in a tomb. The Church is the body of the resurrected Christ filled with the power of the Holy Spirit and being led by Him, as long as He is obeyed without question. The early Church was going viral, accomplishing its created purpose. Since this is the case, what happened to change its trajectory or even worse, rendered the Church impotent? However, Satan’s overt attach within the Church was to inoculate it with his deceptive vaccine. It looked like something good for the health of the Church, but it was not. 

Satan’s organized church vaccine has caused churches to become less focused on saving lives and more focused on building and maintaining its institution. There are church cultures that promote fear of disobeying its leadership more than disobeying God’s commands. There is discouragement of listening to and maintaining friendships with other believers outside the local fellowship. There is emphasis on giving money to the local church to support its efforts more than giving generously to those in need, so there is no lack among them. Another effect from Satan’s anti-virus vaccine is causing the organized church to horde the talents and resources within its membership, to promote its vision instead of distributing them to be salt of the earth and light to the world.

I believe the Lord spoke to me that the Church of Jesus Christ was created by Him as a living organism to go viral. Jesus instructed his disciples to declare the effects of His Church going viral in this prayer, "... Our Father in heaven, Hallowed be Your name. Your kingdom come Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven." Matthew 6:9-10 (NKJV). Contrary to popular teaching, this part of the Lord’s prayer is a prayer of declaration wherein we participate in what God is doing, not a prayer of supplication wherein we spectate, watching what God is doing, for He has created us to accomplish His will in the earth. 

If you are reading this as an attack on the organized church and preparing to strike back or shut down what is being said in this article, please keep reading. If you see this as a rebuke and exhortation for the Church organism, really keep reading. This is my prayer for those reading this now:

Father, in the name of Jesus, I pray for my brothers and sisters in Christ that we all hear what the Spirit is saying to the churches. Although, these words may sting us like the pinch we feel when given a needle. Let it be the sting we feel from You injecting the organized church with anti-vaccine to cure us from Satan’s deadly vaccine that is preventing Your living organism, the body of Christ, from going viral. Amen!

For the churches that have been about our Heavenly Father's business, preparing God’s people for going viral: Church, it is time for going viral, with greater intensity! What does that look like? You have brought more people into the body of Christ, them being saved by the blood of Jesus Christ, set apart by the Heavenly Father, and empowered by the Holy Spirit. Along with teaching and preaching the word of God without compromise, exhorting your members to live holy for God is holy, you have also taught about and allowed the apportioned gifts of Christ, a.k.a. the Fivefold Ministry Gifts (which are not titles and positions) to function according to individual capacity. The members of your local congregation, entrusted to you by the Lord, are ready for going viral. Let us consider this group as the first wave of the, “Born Again Virus," or "BA Virus, for short." For as Jesus told Nicodemus, "you must be born again," this is our mission in life, to participate in fulfilling the Great Commission. 

And He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature. He who believes and is baptized will be saved; but he who does not believe will be condemned. And these signs will follow those who believe: In My name they will cast out demons; they will speak with new tongues; they will take up serpents; and if they drink anything deadly, it will by no means hurt them; they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover.” Mark 16:15-18 (NKJV)

If you are the leader or member of an organized church that has done only a few of the above-mentioned essential things, it is not too late. I repeat, it is not too late to get ready for being part of the next wave of the Born Again Virus. The Lord’s mercy endures forever, in which He is tarrying, giving us time to redeem the times by aligning with His vision for the Church. This may look like leadership repentance and perhaps church-wide repentance. For the leadership, you may need to repent from allowing your hearts and minds to be infected with Satan's vaccine, by becoming inwardly focused on your vision of building one's ministry and making a name for one's self. Repent for being religious by focusing more on practicing rituals and keeping traditions of man. Repent for denying or even speaking against the baptism of fire, the outpouring of the Holy Spirit and His endowment of the various gifts He gives to edify and empower the body of Christ. For those who have embrace the baptism of the Holy Spirit but misrepresented His gifts to the degree it has become a show or badge of honor for self-exaltation, repent. 

The church-wide corporate repentance may look like members repenting for attending and using church for personal satisfaction instead of God's satisfaction, or for plane old unbelief. It may also include repenting from living like the world, practicing sin as a lifestyle instead of a lifestyle of holiness. Submitting to God, resisting the devil so he will flee. Whatever the Holy Spirit convicts you of, that is what your repentance is for, not something that He has not revealed as applying to you. False repentance produces the same thing as no repentance: no change. Whatever the Holy Spirit reveals for you to change in order to be ready for a next wave of the His BA Virus, I encourage you to obey Him out of love, not guilt, shame, or fear. For as you obey the Lord's commands out of love, you will be the kind of worshipper He seeks after, one who worships Him in the Spirit and in truth. John 4:23 

Please do not resist what the Lord is saying to you as the priests, prophets, elders, and the Israelites did in the prophetic books of the Bible. I highly recommend that you read any one of them for a deeper understanding of what God requires and how His Body should respond. The Law and the Prophets of the Old Testament reveal how God feels about His people, why He created them, what He does to get them to return to His original design, and His promise for their restoration, along with other important things about God and His people. These insights from the Law and the Prophets can also be applied to the body of Christ today. When the Church repents, God’s living organism accomplishes its divinely created purpose. This created purpose is for all peoples to be in covenant relationship with Him, which is only possible through salvation provided by Jesus Christ for all who believe and obey His commands. This is the result of the BA Virus going viral. Church, it is time for going viral!
